hello i am very new to linux. i have not used it alot as i installed it friday and had
to fix lilo. i have 3 easy questions. i would like to know how to run something why i
am in the console. say i want to run netconf. do i just type in "netconf"? also i get
this error when i try to get on the net. i use kppp. "Looking for modem..." then
"Sorry modem is busy"...do any of you know what this problem is? when i start linux it
loads all these daemons. when i log out it unloads more daemons. i got some off but i
need to know where and how i can find these daemons and shut them down. thanks alot.
