I am running Mandrake 7.02. Wanting to use updatedb and then locate to
located several files that I have downloaded and then attempted to run
rpm(xrpm) and .tar to install them. A process that has provided me with
no success.
Does MD 7.02 have other commands that replace Locate and Updatedb? I
have used both the /root and the /user from a console. I have a strange
feeling that my HD is filling up with several copies of the files I've
downloaded.
Using GNU's "Howto's" along with the man (MD 7.02) and "Running Linux".
The other thought coming to mind, is that of an incomplete install.
