Hi everyone,

I got to fix the problem with upgrading my 2nd PC. This morning I ran the
upgrade again and made some (FAST!) observations. As the error message
flew by I saw

Free list corrupt (1105416)
run rpm --rebuilddb to fix this problem
if this does not help visit www.rpm.org

So I booted MDK7.0 again on PC2, checked what rpm --rebuilddb should do
(it rebuilds some indexes and stuff on the RPM database). After that I
booted the machine with the 7.1 install cd in the cddrive. And it
installed whistling and humming along! No problem at all.

Something learnt again, I'll put this little tidbit on my linux page.

I feel better now, and will upgrade the other machine as well.
And I can agree with the others that cheered about the graphical
installer, it is the best I have seen so far. It looks slick, runs smooth
and it is not as childish as the windoze installer that treats you like an
idiot. (Come to think of it, it does make sense that it behaves that
way...)
