  sure it does

 XMMS:   under Preferences | Audio IO Plugins,  hi-lite 'CD Audio
Player', choose 'enable' and 'OK'.  Plays audio CD's better than any
other player I've heard.  Xmms 1.2.2 is available on cooker now.
