[newbie] Adobe Acrobat Not cooperating...

Hello,

Adobe Acrobat Reader 4 is not being a good sport... to which I responded
with !!!!!!#@$%^&*() !! after checking the readme,
installing/uninstalling, etc. The Antichrist continuously crashes upon
attempting to open a .pdf file. Yes, I know, I referred to the program
in the darkest terms possible without degenerating into the unprintable.
Anyone have any solutions, feedback, etc?
I am running Mandrake 7.1, which is by itself running fine.
