Helix Gnome is great...nice eye candy. It will take the place of standard Gnome, but will alow you with switch to other windows managers just not back to standard gnome. It has the easiest installer I have seen for linux. Give it a try you can always backout if you need to.

I installed from gnome, it shouldn't make a difference on what window manager you install from, only affects gnome.

have fun.

Subject: [newbie] Helix Gnome

Is anyone using Helix Gnome?  If so i got a few questions:
    1.  Which environment (KDE, Gnome, ...) should i be using when i install it?
    2.   Will it mess up my current gnome configuration?
    3.  Do you like Helix Gnome?
    4.  Do you recommend it?

I can't decide whether or not to install it. Hmmm well i'll just wait to see what all of you say.

Thanks
