Long time since I worked exclusively at the command prompt - grin!!!

I've been back at this opsys only a few months and I still making silly
mistakes involving complete reloads - I know I shouldn't need to but I
lose track of which bit I tried to tweak and stuff it up!!! So start
from
scratch again.

What I have noticed is that on successive re-installs there appears to
be some kind of randomness involved in whether those icons are set up
or not. Sometimes they are set up sometimes not.

The icons themselves are in /usr/share/icons but I don't remember what
the individual names are, as I scroll thru the GUI which pops up when I
add applications to my desktop and grab what seems reasonable for the
particular app..

It's a bit like that other annoyance where suddenly for no apparent
reason
the taskbar changes from 'tiny'to the standard, or that some apps are
locked(?) into 1280x960 and we can't see the bottom of the panel in
600x800 mode (Adobe Arobat Reader is a case in point).

I have come to regard this as a variation of Myalgic Molythic
Gatesism!!!!

Cheers
