The nearest I've seen are: Spruce, Pronto, Balsa, and Mahogany. They all have their little quirks. Pronto is good and is under constant development - based on Perl and either Mysql or Postsql (??spelling??). Qualcomm are developing qpopper but this more a mail-server than a client. Looks good tho.
