Hey,
One of the boxes I have here dual-boots W98 & RH 6.0. It's a
P100, an 850MB & a 250MB drive, has 48MB RAM & the RH spans both
disks. While it's not a ~lot~ faster than W98, it is noticeable.
As Herman mentioned, RAM is important. My girl friend's pc is
a P-II 333 with 64MB of RAM & mine is a P-III 500 with 256MB RAM.
Each, right now, is dual-booting W2k & LM 7.2. Naturally, mine
is much faster, & the RAM never seems to fill up. But such apps
at Star Office on hers is slower than one might expect (the 5.0
release when she was running RH 6.0 was completely unusable).
I'd been stuck some months ago when I was running RH 6.0 on my
box, & I'd had to spend a few days on the P100. While it's
painfully slower than my P-III, it wasn't ~that~ bad.
