I run Win4Lin v2.0 on my Caldera eD2.4 using win98SE and it purrs and is really fast. I did try VMWare back at version 2.0 and it was as slow as can be (I only had 64MB of ram and now I have 160, but installed win4lin 1.04 @ only 96 MB of ram, then win4lin 2.0 @ the same 96 MB). I mainly use this to avoid dual booting. The sounds works as advertised and if I was not looking at the monitor, I would think I'm booting native win98SE. I'm not sure why one would say win4lin sucks, unless of course you're upset at having to patch your own kernel to use Mandrake 7.2. I think VMWare sucks, but I will not put it down, Linux rocks so any software emulator that works is alright with me, I just prefer Win4Lin, can't wait till the server version comes out.
