Yes, http://www.pointman.org/PMFirewall/ to configure ipchains so
you'll have a firewall. I almost hate to recommend this 'cause it's so
damn easy to make a good set of firewall rules without knowing anything
about what it's all about ;) If it's any comfort, I'm lost an' get'n
lost'er, the new 2.4.x kernels use iptables, an' I don't have a clue as
to how ipchains (2.2.x) gets it done, much less iptables, but scanners
can't touch me :)

... and not to be remiss, check your logs regularly. I've got Kmail
rec'ving root's mail, and also regularly look at
/etc/portsentry/portsentry.history
The only thing else I can suggest is NEVER connect to the Net with any
Micro$oft product. There is no way to harden Billy's stuff. Refrain
from using HTML for email, and delete without reading any you receive.
