Ron,

I have the same problem: 7.2 doesn't install, telling me
along the way that it can't find /hda, /proc/mem, zoneinfo
(sometimes) and other things that it should have no trouble
locating. But 7.1 installs with no problem whatsoever.

I've afterward made changes to my partition, hoping that
writing the table anew would work. I tried moving
the Linux partitions from the beginning of the drive to the
end. I tried using different filesystems. Different
bootloaders--try again! Different installation media.
<sigh> I tried beta 8.0, and it's giving me the same
problems.

The bigger problem is that nobody seems to know why. :^(

I'm still hopeful, but I dunno. I'll tell you what--putting
Mandrake on my dinky laptop in the interim really sucks.
