I did an expert install of 8.0 and grip was setup to
make mp3's using bladeenc

I immediately changed it to make .oggs cause they
sound better and are about the same size as mp3's.

Xmms should play .oggs by the way.  There is an
xmms-ogg-vorbis package on the cd's that you can
install to make it work.

Give em a try.  I've got 40 full albums in .ogg format
(highest quality levels too) and they take up about
2.5 gigs.
