Hi, I've got v8.0 installed and I have several commercial games that I
can not get to work. Hardware acceleration for my Voodoo 3000 was
detected and setup during installation. Games like Chromium and Mesa
gears run fast in a window. I installed Quake 3, Descent 3, Soldier of
Fortune, etc, but they will not start. All attempt to run, go to a
blank, black screen, then Mandrake resets itself, and I wind up at the
graphical logon screen. All these games worked fine under 7.1 with DRI's
software. Even animation viewers like MTV won't go full screen.
Is there some trick to getting full screen access under 8.0? I'm using
Xfree 4.03.
