Hi! I have got my wheel mouse to work properly instead of doing
the crazy top right corner windows flicking everywhere thing. I
got instructions from
http://www.mandrakeuser.org/docs/xwin/xmouse.html
It says to change the mouse protocol in the XF86Config file from
PS/2 to IMPS/2, take out the Emulate3Buttons, and set the
ZAxisMapping to "4 5". It does not mention setting Buttons to
5, like I have seen elsewhere. It also notes that there are
possibly two files in /etc/X11 which need to be configured -
XF86Config and XF86Config-4. I don't know what the difference
is, so I changed both. Then I restarted the X server, and hey
presto, scrolling scroll bars and no flickering. That document
also says to use the imwheel program, but that seemed to use
the wheel for scrolling through the command history, which is
a feature I don't want.
