Yes I'm running LimeWire on LM8. What you need is to have a Java runtime 
installed (e.g. Sun's or IBM's) and the "Other" install version of LimeWire. 
Then copy-and-paste the following line into a terminal window and execute.

java -classpath LimeWireOther.zip install  

To launch LimeWire after installation, you might want to create a link 
to the executable script for convenience e.g. in my case a link 
pointing to:

/home/myusername/LimeWire/LimeWire
