5. Installation
===============
IMPORTANT: TO RUN THE HOMEPAGE BUILDER, IT IS NECESSARY TO INSTALL A
SPECIAL
WINE PACKAGE FOR THE HOMEPAGE BUILDER. PLEASE DOWNLOAD IT FROM THE
FOLLOWING
SITE, FIRST.

Before you begin installing, you should make sure that:
* TopPage Beta version is uninstalled.
* Your computer meets the above system requirements.
Note) If you have installed TopPage Beta version before, it is
recommended
to remove the files under the directory $HOME/.hpbuilder.
To install Homepage Builder to your hard disk, become the root user,
and
issue the following command:
(The product top directory will be /opt/hpbuilder4 as default.)
# rpm -ivh <Package File Name>
E.g., # rpm -ivh hpbuilder-4.0-1.i386.rpm
To change the default top directory, use the --relocate option of the
rpm
command.
# rpm -ivh --relocate /opt=<Top Directory> <Package File Name>
E.g., # rpm -ivh --relocate /opt=/usr/local hpbuilder-4.0-1.i386.rpm
6. Usage
========
To start the "Homepage Builder" program, issue the following command:
$ hpbuilder -e
To start the "Web Animator" program, issue the following command:
$ hpbuilder -a
To start the "WebArt Designer" program, issue the following command:
$ hpbuilder -c
To start the "File Transfer" program, issue the following command:
$ hpbuilder -f
To start the "Tutorial" program, issue the following command:
(hpbuilder-tutorial package must be installed)
$ hpbuilder -t
To start the "User's Guide" with Netscape Communicator, issue the
following
command:
(hpbuilder-docs package must be installed)
$ hpbuilder -g
Note) If any process fails while you are running Homepage Builder,
invoke the 'hpbclean' command to clean up the failed process.
Homepage Builder works in managed mode, which allows the window
manager
to manage created window. If you want to change it to unmanaged
mode, please set the 'HPB_WMANAGE' environment variable to 0.
7. Uninstallation
=================
To uninstall the Homepage Builder, please issue the following command
as the root user:
# rpm -e <Package name>
E.g., # rpm -e hpbuilder-4.0-1
8. Restrictions
===============
Restrictions of this release, IBM WebSphere Homepage Builder for Linux
Version 4.0, are described as follows:
* Common
- This release does NOT work on XFree86 V4.0.
- Some shortcut keys may NOT work if you reserve these keys as
shortcuts
on your window manager of X Window.
- Unmanaged windows(dialogs) may work as top-most on GNOME.
- Some windows(dialogs) may have garbage.
- Some characters(fonts) may be shown strangely. It depends on X
fonts of
your X Window.
- File name disappears at the file name field of the file dialog
after
changing the directory.
* Homepage Builder
- This release does NOT support the following functions;
- handling XBM and WMF formatted images
- copying and pasting text in the input fields
- expanding tree-view items on "Universal Attribute Editor"
dialog
- refreshing site information automatically
- setting color with specifying RGB values at "Color" dialog.
- The selected folder may NOT be shown on tree-view window of
"Contents"
after selecting an item on combo-box.
- Some horizontal scrollbars on dialog may NOT be shown.
- Some selected items may NOT be shown correctly at the following
windows;
- "Choice" at "List Box" on "Attribute" dialog of "Form"
- "Bookmarks" on "Edit Bookmarks" dialog
- Highlighted item is getting selected even if an outside place
different
from the menu is selected.
- Some items may NOT be shown at "Stack Level" on "Layout Frame"
dialog.
- The specified color of background "Table/Row/Cell" panel of
"Attribute"
dialog and the specified color at "Fonts Attributes" dialog are
reset
when clicking the button on the right-hand side of the dropdown
list.
* WebArt Designer
- The selected folder may NOT be shown on tree-view window of
"Contents"
after selecting item on combo-box.
- The mouse pointer may keep the wait cursor style after clicking
an
image with "Spot" of "Cross" effect. But any function is
available.
* Web Animator
- The frame may be still selected after dragging at the list-view.
* File Transfer
- Sorting the list of files and folders does NOT work.
