I believe you're SOL. nVidia by their choices, only supports
certain Linux kernels, glibc, XF-?, etc., under a cloud of secrecy, and
even then only marginally. I suspect no SMP kernels will fit the bill.
Then again, one of the responsibilities of using other than Billy's
stuff is to research suitability _before_ you buy the current hardware.
So this is a user (induced) problem, any OS, specially with SMP, ...but

If you then still choose to buy Wintel gang hardware ... well,
life's about choices. I surely don't mean to demean you. I have an
nVidia card too. MOF, same one as you're asking about (Abit version).
I use it with the open source drivers that Mandrake an' the open source
community devises. Better 2d than nVidia provides for Winblows or
Linux.

Because of Wintel's influence on the market place, it's gettin
real tough to buy current hardware that works other than with Winblows.
It's not neccesarily nVidia's intentions, other than the wintel gang
licenses they got into that prevent full support for anything but
winblows. But that's their reason. I have my doubts if that's anything
but an excuse for their poor un*x support tho.

Curious: what at you runnin that SMP and a high performance 3d card
makes sense with... anyhow ?? ...any OS ?
