Question: Does IPtables control the serial ports (ttyS*)? I can't get
gphoto2 to work with my camera (which connects through the serial port),
and -- grasping for straws -- I was wondering if the firewall might have
something to do with it. I'm using LM 8.0; have IPMasquerading setup,
also a SOHO LAN via Netatalk. Iptables seems to be set up by default (or
perhaps when IPMasquerading is implemented), and I had to add some rules
to
allow the LAN to function.

If the firewall does affect the serial ports, how do I open them up?
(Didn't find any mention of this in IPtables manual, serial port HOWTO,
or searching Google, so I assume this is a longshot).
Thanks in advance for any help.
