I'm sorry! I asked a stupid question in my last response as a result of
not paying attention to the title. In KDE you can still XKill them as I
stated in the last post, but you have to take the "restore session"
option when logging out. You also may want to go into GNOME and see if
it does the same thing there. If it does, do GNOME (XKill) first and
then KDE. Then log out with restore session. It worked for me.
