I am using kppp to establish the dialup connection to iprimus. When attempting the connection I get the message that the modem is busy or unavailable. This might be a permission problem so I will set all tty device entries to 777. You'll find information on installing Lucent modems about halfway down the first page. Elsewhere on the page, there are links to other useful sites (linmodems.org is excellent), as well as other docs and Howto's that will help you understand what you are doing and why you are doing it.
