I had a similar problem, only I'm not sure it's the same thing, but it won't harm to visit the "errata" page on the Mandrake -site. Thanks to Civileme, who now - very unfortunately - has left this list, my installation went like a breeze after downloading a small patch. Quite simple ! BTW : did you buy a PC with Microsjuft preinstalled ? - In that case I guess you'll have to make room for linux. A great tool for this purpose is "Partition Magic" from Powerquest. If you don't have it - and don't want to pay for it - I guess Mandrake can do it as well, but you'll have to run a defragmentation-program from Windows prior to partitioning. HTH Kaj Haulrich Denmark
