Make a bootdisk in windows first with the CD in the drive.  Can windows
read the CD's?  If so, use the disk to boot off of, then see if it
recognizes the CDRom.

Is this CDrom internal/external/usb/scsi?  MORE
INFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
