i'm remote accessing my Mandrake Linux box thru vnc. it's almost unbearably slow. the speed doesn't seem to differ much regardless of color depth, i've tried 8, 15 and 16, so for now, i'm using 15.
i'm wondering if upgrading my 10mbps hub to a 100mbps switch will make much of a diff, since the cpu utilization on both the server/client doesn't seem to be much, around 20-30% or is my bottleneck somewhere else? thanks.
