Same here. After adding Thac's 10.1 rpms as one of my urpmi sources and doing an "urpmi --auto-select" I had no end of problems. I ended up re-installing. Things as basic as the dialog for changing the screen background were broken. Thac's site doesn't say anywhere that I saw that these are cooker based rpms, but it would probably explain the problem. Whenever I tried to run one of the broken programs from the command line I got errors about missing symbols. IIUC, this happens when a program is modified and compiled against newer libraries, but the dependencies are not correctly updated (if the dependencies were updated, urpmi would complain during install). Bottom line, I would recommend staying away from Thac's site unless you are feeling really adventurous and/or enjoy reinstalling. -- Ron ronhd at users dot sourceforge dot net Opinions expressed here are all mine.
