Hello,
I have many wav files on my computer (not on cds) and I would like to
rip them in MP3. I use grip but I can only rip cds in my driver. Is
there a way to rip files from my computer with that software?
If not what do you suggest?
Thanks
Christophe

You can use lame on the command line or by right clicking the file in konqueror, you should get an option to "Compress to mp3" in the actions menu. The settings konq uses can be found in the kcontrol => Sound => Audio CDs => MP3 Encoder tab

Ok I tried action menu and I get this error message: Impossible to find the program lame %f `echo %f | sed 's/\\\\.wav$//'`.mp3 .
I know that lame is there, I use it with grip!
What shall I do to solve this?
How do you use lame on the command line???
Thanks
Christophe
