This list is a place to get support rather than training. It's
best to look up the twiki ( http://twiki.mdklinuxfaq.org ) or
any of a billion other places, give them a try, and then come
back here with _specific_ questions.

Okay, _this_ is a good question. 

First, which Mandrake/Mandriva are you using? If you're using
10.1, then use "cdrecord -scanbus dev=ATA" instead. Also you do
not need to mount the image to burn it. Just get the device
number, make the image, then burn the image. And if you're
burning an ISO image, don't use "-data", but do use "- dao" and
drop the space after "dev=".
