I just installed 2005LE this morning, and I'm having difficulty getting my internet working. I am using adsl pppoe, and just can't seem to connect. It worked fine with my 10.1 setup.
let's not be so timid (who just wants to seem to ... ?) with computers :-) of course dial-up problems can be vexing as we depend so much on the providers' black boxes.
It may be due to the fact that my security level was set to high by default during installation, and, try as I might I was unable to change the setting to normal. I didn't seem to have that option available to me. I have since tried to find where I can change the security level, but it has eluded me thus far. I'm sure there was a place in mcc in my 10.1 to change this.
i don't think the default security level has anything to do with this. could you try to connect to the net using a LiveCD like PCLinux ? also disconnect your modem from electricity for a while before you try. what is the error message you are getting ?
My laptop is a Dell 1150 Inspiron, p4 2.8Ghz, 512MB ram. Could some kind soul here help me to resolve this issue. TIA for your time and any help.
