I have it sorted out now. My *problem* was that I didn't have shorewall 
properly configured to allow my adsl to work. I had selected "ethernet" instead 
of "ppp+".
Also, I didn't have mcc options set to "expert mode", so therefore security and 
firewall fine tuning settings were hidden from me. DUH! [:-/

Margot, I still have your pic, and while you may not be an expert on this, you 
look extremely lovely in your *newbieness*. Rival is pretty sharp too. ;-)
