I do not know a lot about your hardware, but if this is a PCI card, as I
suspect it is, then I would not be suprised to find that it is mapped at
/dev/ttyS4. Usualy /dev/ttyS0 through /dev/ttyS3 are reserved for the
"ISA" serial ports. Now, you may need to load a module for the modem,
but just in case the port is already created, try /dev/ttyS4. I have a
PCI I/O card in my system, and the two serial ports on it are /dev/ttyS4
and /dev/ttyS5, even though I do not have anything on /dev/ttyS2 and
/dev/ttyS3. Because the card is not in the hardware database, I did have
to add "parport_serial" to /etc/modprobe.preload to get the card to work.
