Mandriva was the only Linux distro to find all the hardware correctly and wifi was a breeze on both! I did have to use the vesa driver on the Averatec but since I am not playing any games on it, it doesn't matter. I had tried several distros on both these laptops and actually had to put windows (yuck) back on the compaq to make it usable. Now even my laptops are totally windows free!
