grub or lilo, no real diff, but you need one, I like lilo as _i_ am used to
it, flip a coin to which you prefer or want to learn about the workings of.
the others depends on the BIOS implementations of your computer
ACPI= advanced configuration and power interface.
apic is advanced pic, (programmable interrupt controller),(APIC) which is
_NEEDED_ by SMP (more than one CPU) computers, but may or may not be working
in single processor units (APIC is needed, pic is need by older
uni-processor machines)
Aha ! Now it makes sense. Thanks. This is an old Dell with a Pentium2
at 330MHz, so I'll leave all the boxes blank.
