Normaly, if harddrake detects the network card, it will put an alias in /etc/modules.conf so that the driver gets loaded.
The other problem you are going to run into is that 9.1 is a bit old. Not too many people on the list are still running it, so it will be harder to help you the if you were running a current version. Having said that, if you will post more information about your hardware, and possible the output of the lspci command, we will see what we can do.
