Now I'm wondering if I'm suffering from serious brain cramp because my eth0 is 
connected to the same router on a wired interface and the wireless modem is 
trying to connect to the same router.  Just a wild guess at this point.

Now if my sister's puppy would leave me alone long enough to figure this 
out. :-)
