Why are we even bothering to just start throwing out suggestions about 
changing the software the bloke is using? There is obviously something more 
going on - below the level of application software. I myself witnessed this 
upon my first installation of LE2005 - so we need to think a bit lower down 
than the application level - such as if the mount point has been 
"automagically" changed - or if the fstab has been modified - and such.

So being that it worked before, what has changed since that point? Was there a 
system upgrade done? (URPMI or similar) A kernel change? fstab change?
