I rang the manufacturers who replied to the effect that the monitor is plug-and-play compliant, and should therefore work with any operating system that understands pnp. It is always wrongly set up at install, but all I have to do is run XFDrake and set it to Generic LCD 1024xwhatever, and there is no further problem. No drivers, no anything. The only difference would be if you have a monitor with built in hubs or such extras, in which case they may need a bit more setting up, or may not work at all, depending whether they use standard configurations.
