How dificult is it to upgrade from the KDE that came with 2005 LE? Is it
worth it? Are there instructions somewhere?
When I did it, I made sure I wasn't in KDE (which is really easy because I
don't use KDE at all - I prefer my loving XFce 4.2.2) and setup the SoS urpmi
source, used rpmdrake to pick all the packages I wanted (which will
automagically pick the ones you need as well) and voila! I was done (well,
not quite "I was done" - I *did* have to download the package and then the
packages had to install, but really, that's it. Nothing major. I fired it up
once or twice to check it out. Nice. Not for me, but nice. I was mainly
interested in getting Kontact/Kmail 1.8.2 - so I accomplished my task.
Ditto with Gnome 2.10 when I did that upgrade. There are some instructions on
Hawkwind's sight pertaining to what you need to do, so please, by all means,
RTFM, eh?
Cheers!
