I once had to do that for a small company I was helping.  It was a 
humiliating experience.  What they were wanting was perfectly legal - they 
were upgrading from an ancient computer to an middle-aged one - but the 
implication in the support person's tone was that we were a bunch of 
no-goods.

I don't like their product, but their attitude stinks.  I would not use 
Quickbooks if there was any other possibility.

I wouldn't recommend GnuCash for a big complex set of accounts, but if 
Quickbooks was adequate I would think GnuCash will be.
