I have tried lighter wms (Flux/Blackbox, and earlier versions of Xfce), and really didn't notice all that much difference in speed, even on my previous *ancient* 900Mhz Celeron Dell. I did notice a speed drop in my ability to find everything I am used to having with KDE though. ;-) My present Inspiron with a P4 2.8Ghz seems to be fairly responsive with KDE. To each her/his own though. Kind of like the age old Chevy vs. Ford thing. Whatever gets you down the road is all that really matters.....that's IMHO of course. As always YMMV. Variety is certainly the spice of life, as they say. Whatever floats your boat, and all that jazz too. :-) Regards. --Angus "Let us not look back in anger or forward in fear, but around in awareness." -- James Thurber *********************************************** ~Linux Laptop, Powered by Mandriva-2005LE~ *********************************************** ~Reg.
