I have two basic hardware questions, concerning hard drives in trays
which plug into the computer.
Firstly, if there are several hard drives, each with a different OS
on, should they all be of the same make and model? Will booting from
drives of different makes "confuse" the BIOS, or doesn't it care?
Secondly, does it matter if some trays are labelled UDMA133 and others
UDMA60/100 - assuming they all slot into the same carrier?
Hope the answer to both questions is that it doesn't matter - it'll
get me out of a bit of a mess!!
Sorry this isn't directly related to Mandriva!
Thanks for any advice.

I have used trays for several years and the UDMA133 and UDMA60/100
has not caused any problems. My system has seven hard drives, six for
different OS, one for data (which is fat32 and available to all OS).
Your BIOS need to be set to AUTO detect - of the hard drives .
By the way I am using very cheap plastic trays. Some as cheap as $10.
This is much better than dual booting and lets you know for sure that
a problem with one OS is not a hardware problem.
Also if you have a detection problem you can see what drivers other OS
use to run your hardware.
