Easier from a term to cd into that particular dir =>

(example)
/home/yankdownunder/.thunderbird/y6mq40ha.default

Once in there, you can type "du -sch" which will give you the ACTUAL size in
human readable form:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] y6mq40ha.default]$ du -sch
3.1M .
3.1M total
----------------------------------------------
And then by moving into the actual mail dirs you can get:

/home/yankdownunder/.thunderbird/y6mq40ha.default/Mail/Local Folders
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Local Folders]$ ls -CFalh
total 24K
drwx------ 2 yankdownunder yankdownunder 336 Sep 26 22:09 ./
drwxr-xr-x 3 yankdownunder yankdownunder 80 Sep 26 22:09 ../
-rw-r--r-- 1 yankdownunder yankdownunder 0 Sep 26 22:09 Drafts
-rw-r--r-- 1 yankdownunder yankdownunder 1.5K Sep 26 22:27 Drafts.msf
-rw-r--r-- 1 yankdownunder yankdownunder 1.2K Sep 26 22:27 Junk.msf
-rw-r--r-- 1 yankdownunder yankdownunder 0 Sep 26 22:09 Sent
-rw-r--r-- 1 yankdownunder yankdownunder 1.5K Sep 26 22:27 Sent.msf
-rw-r--r-- 1 yankdownunder yankdownunder 1.2K Sep 26 22:27 Templates.msf
-rw-r--r-- 1 yankdownunder yankdownunder 0 Sep 26 22:09 Trash
-rw-r--r-- 1 yankdownunder yankdownunder 1.4K Sep 26 22:27 Trash.msf
-rw-r--r-- 1 yankdownunder yankdownunder 0 Sep 26 22:09 Unsent Messages
-rw-r--r-- 1 yankdownunder yankdownunder 1.4K Sep 26 22:27 Unsent
Messages.msf
----------------------------------------------

That would at least tell you the size it takes up on the disk. Once again,
though, it's dependent on how you have your mail prefs setup. Mine doesn't
really take more than 3.1mb because everything lives on the server. The
mailboxes aren't going to be called 'Mbox' anything - just look at what's in
my Mail/Local Folders/ and you can see what they're called...

Dear Miss Manners:
I carry a big black umbrella, even if there's just a thirty percent chance of
rain. May I ask a young lady who is a stranger to me to share its protection?
This morning, I was waiting for a bus in comparative comfort, my umbrella
protecting me from the downpour, and noticed an attractive young woman getting
soaked. I have often seen her at my bus stop, although we have never spoken,
and I don't even know her name. Could I have asked her to get under my
umbrella without seeming insulting?

Gentle Reader:
Certainly. Consideration for those less fortunate than you is always proper,
although it would be more convincing if you stopped babbling about how
attractive she is. In order not to give Good Samaritanism a bad name, Miss
Manners asks you to allow her two or three rainy days of unmolested protection
before making your attack.
