Like everything, you pays your money and makes your choice. There's been
a few changes in the short period of 2 years though.
The current stable version is 2005LE, but 2006 isn't too far away.

like the distro it's probably better to join the club than buy a pack.

which recounts one persons experience of installing SuSE 9.1 on your
machine - seems straightforward - which means that just about any distro
should be OK.
I don't know how SuSE's WLAN setup compares to Mandrakes, they possibly
have the edge (judging by this account). Also there's no mention of the
modem - that may be difficult under Linux.
