presumably, cups was installed when you installed the os, so it will
be an rpm installation.  on that assumption, uninstalling will be (as
root) rpm -e cups

you should also be able to simply update cups (with or without
uninstalling first) with (again, as root) rpm -Uhv cups

if that gives errors, try rpm -Uhv cups --force

one of those scenarios should overwrite any corrupt files.
