You can use smart at any given time if you have it installed.  smart
--gui will get you going.  smart --channel  or smart --help will tell
you a ton of information.  Using the gui is pretty intuitive.  Also,
easyurpmi.zarb.org can give you the commands for smart as it does for
urpmi.  We are in the middle of incorporating smart into the 5 sites
at http://urpmi-addmedia.org as well.  I'm hoping to have that done by
end of the month at the latest.
