Hi Mikkel,
I think we need more information here. What did you upgrade from, and
how did you upgrade? I have two machines that I upgraded from 10.1 to
2005LE and I have not had any problems like this. One machine was an
upgrade using the install CDs, and the other was an upgrading using
urpmi and changing to 2005LE sources.
I upgraded from MDK 10.0. I upgraded using a DVD.
You should check that udev is running. (service udev status) If udev is
not running, you will have problems accessing most /dev/entries.
When I run that command I see:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] log]# service udev status
devfsd used instead of udev!!!
What can I do to make this work? (Running into loads of other problems,
for instance python 2.4 seems broken so my mail won't be downloaded...
pfff...)

To get udev working, you need to edit /etc/lilo.conf and add
"devfs=nomount" to the append line for the entry you use, and reboot. I
have:
mage=/boot/vmlinuz
label="linux"
root=/dev/hda6
initrd=/boot/initrd.img
append="resume=/dev/hda9 splash=silent devfs=nomount"
vga=788
read-only
You will have a slightly different entry, but you can see how the
devfs=nomount entry is used.
