I am unable to send e-mail on kontact/kmail 1.9 although receiving

Any thoughts
Post your configuration on the kmail account sending page. Often just
writing it down helps you spot what you overlooked. In my experience
the most likely thing would be whether to use authentication. Many
smtp server do not require authentication, and you get this error if
you set it.

I assume you mean:
Name: my name
Host: smtp.comcast.net
Port: 25
No precommand
Server requires authentication is unchecked (although it makes no
difference if it is checked)
Send custom hostname to server is unchecked
Encryption: None
I've tried re-adding the outgoing account with every combination of my
name, my useraccount name, e-mail address, etc I can think of with no
luck.
Paul
is it "comcast.net" or "comcast.com"
