I am also having trouble getting a serial modem to work. Mine won't work in
windows either. I see a couple lights blink but not long enough to se which
they are. The modem I have is a best data smart one model 56spx-2/56sx-2.
The internal modem I am using just isn't compatible with Mandriva.
