I did remove my 3.3.2 version of gcc, and then I did the following on Kaj's recommendation (private mail):

Have I chosen a bad ftp site? Kaj recommended the use of the uninett site, but I did not find references to gcc ver. 3.4.1 there.

I do find reference to 3.4 in Rpmdrake (install software), I did try to install 3.4 from here, I got no error messages that I was aware og.. But rpm -q gcc responded that the package was not installed. The removal og ver 3.3.2 worked from Rpmdrake, but not the reinstallation. Next time (after DB update) I tried I got "bad signature" on gcc2-96-cpp...., so the above updating must have gone sour.

Any ideas?

Brgds PA
