My daughters have just switched to amsn because the latest 0.95 release 
supports webcams.

They much prefer amsn to gaim even without the webcam.
Stability of the 0.95 release is fine. I have had no issues at all. There is a 
Mandriva rpm of amsn-0.95 on the project page I think.

BTW: I had to compile a driver to get my daughter's logitech messenger webcam 
to work with Mandriva 2006.
