Next step I'd try is to edit (as root) /etc/fstab and add ,rw behind
'managed', like this:

pamconsole,exec,noauto,codepage=850,iocharset=iso8859-1,managed,rw 0 0

Then umount and mount the device again without disconnecting it. Perhaps
then you can write to it.
After mounting, first check that /etc/fstab still has the change in it
you applied. USB has the habit of removing and adding those lines.
